Maria Sharapova Exits Wimbledon 2009-Wimbledon 2009 Tennis Odds

Former champion Maria Sharapova crashed out of Wimbledon 2009 in the second round after being beaten in three sets by world No45 Gisela Dulko.

The Argentinian won the first set with ease before Sharapova looked to have steadied herself in winning the second, only for Dulko to battle back in the deciding set to complete a major upset.

The 24th-seeded Sharapova struggled with her forehand Wednesday and repeatedly lost points when forced to run forward for drop shots.

Dulko closed out the victory when Sharapova sailed a forehand long.

Maria Sharapova lost a second-round Wimbledon match to Gisela Dulko.

Sharapova, who is coming off shoulder surgery, lost 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
